Releases Coming Soon, and News About Sarah J. Maas!

Hi everyone! There’s a lot going on in the book world recently, so I thought I would make a list of books that are coming out, and even some that were unexpected or delayed.

King’s Cage (Red Queen #3) by Victoria Aveyard, February 7, 2017. As I have read and own the first two books, I figure it would be worth it to get this one once it’s released. My expectations are low for this book, after the near vague and the pace was way too fast to understand. While I’m looking forward to this next book, I wouldn’t say I’m excited about it. I’ll read it in the hopes that that it was better than the last.

The Dark Prophecy (The Trials of Apollo #2) by Rick Riordan, May 2, 2017. I haven’t read this particular series, but I have read some of Rick Riordan’s other books. Percy Jackson (which continues to be one of my favorites) and The Heroes of Olympus (which was alright, but I mostly read because Percy was in it). I’ve heard good things about it, but I just can’t read any more of his work. I struggled through The Heroes of Olympus as it was.

A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J. Maas, May 2, 2017. I have yet to read A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) or A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOMAF) but I plan on doing it very soon, as soon as I finished the book I’m reading now. I’m really looking forward to reading them because I’ve heard it’s just as good as Thorne of Glass. I’m scared though, who knows how attached I’ll get to these characters!

The Battlemage (The Summoner #3) by Taran Matharu, May 9, 2017. I don’t know much about this series except that it’s sitting on my bookshelf, waiting to be read. I really liked the summary, and it had good reviews on Goodreads. It’s on my to read list, I’ll get to it eventually. I thought someone might be interested in learning about this series at least.

Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices #2) by Cassandra Clare, May 3, 2017. I know this has been a popular book series too, thought I haven’t read any of Cassandra Clare’s books since the City of Bones series. I have watched the TV show that has recently come out based off that series called Shadowhunters, but I’m not overly impressed.

There is also some exciting news on the Thorne of Glass front. There is going to be a new book in the series, but it isn’t the next in the series, but an addition to the series. It was originally going to be a novella, but it turns out Sarah J. Maas just kept writing it got out of control and turned into a full 400 page book! It’s expected to be published September 5th 2017, the same date, I should say, that the final Throne of Glass was to be published. That will be explained in the next paragraph. This book, however, doesn’t have a name yet, or a cover. We’ll just have to wait.

The actual next book in Throne of Glass doesn’t have a name or a cover yet either. There is bad news though, the publican date has been pushed back to May 1st 2018, eight months beyond its original date. I should also say that this is because of health reasons, though I have yet to find any actual articles to give you more information. You can go to the website below and find what I’ve read, but there isn’t much more information. I’m still reeling from the ending of the last book, and I’m saddened that I won’t see it anytime soon. But If Sarah J. Maas needs the time off to deal with her health, I’ll be happy to wait for however long it takes.

It is official! There is going to be a pilot episode to Queen of Shadows, the TV series adaption of the Throne of Glass books. It will be on Hulu (which I will subscribe to just to watch this show, and others. I’ve been thinking about getting one anyway) and I’m super excited, while also holding myself in reserve incase it doesn’t work out, or that the casting is just as bad as above mentioned TV show Shadowhunters.

I hope you’ve found a book or are excited to read one that will be coming out soon. If I’ve missed one, sorry!
